Samsung’s 2022 foldable lineup – the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Fold 4 – will be announced at the Unpacked event on August 10. However, leaks from the past few weeks have already ruined its party and revealed almost everything about the devices. Adding insult to injury, hands-on images of the Fold 4 and Flip 4 have now surfaced online, showing thinner outer bezels and less noticeable creases.

In the hands-on images shared on Twitter by @noh_tech, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 looks remarkably similar to the Flip 3. The internal bezels may be a bit thinner than on the current model, but the change seems small enough that only a side-by-side comparison can confirm it. Additionally, the aluminum frame of the Flip 4 has a metallic look in the leaked images compared to the glossy finish on the Flip 3.

At first glance, the hands-on images of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 don’t reveal any major design changes. The device looks slightly wider in the hand than the Fold 3, which suggests a change in the aspect ratio of the display. But this can be confirmed only by direct comparison.

The outer hinge also appears quite thin. As for the crease of the foldable display, it seems less noticeable than last year’s model. However, it may become more prominent after a few folds, so it’s too early to comment on whether Samsung has made any improvements in this area. It is clear that the upcoming foldable from the Korean giant will not have a flat display like the Oppo Find N.

Leaked hands-on images indicate that Samsung’s 2022 foldable lineup will not bring dramatic design changes. The improvement, if any, will be modest and is unlikely to address any major pain points with the current-gen model. Still, if you’re still interested in getting your hands on the company’s upcoming devices, you can reserve the Galaxy Z Fold 4 or Flip 4 now to save $200 on them when they launch.
