According to Deadline, Corbett, 61, will appear in several episodes of the HBO Max series and will have an important story. While no details have been revealed about their possible plot line in the upcoming season, fans who never stop shipping Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Aidan can almost guarantee some kind of romantic reunion.
However, this is not the first time it has been reported that the My Big Fat Greek Wedding star is set to return to the series. In April 2021, Corbett claimed he had a role in Season 1 – although he ultimately never made an appearance.

“I’m going to do the show,” he told Page Six at the time, expressing his excitement about returning to the role of Aidan. “I feel like I could be in a few [episodes]. I love all those guys, they’ve been so good with me.”
Viewers were crushed when Corbett never appeared during the revival’s opening season, with Carey’s husband John “Mr. Big” Prescott (Chris Noth) via Peloton and her re-introduction to the dating world.
Months later, in February, the creators of And Just Like That blamed the To All Boys I’ve Loved Before star for completely meeting fans’ expectations.
“John Corbett should write a personal apology note. We didn’t say anything,” writer Julie Rotenberg told Deadline at the time, while showrunner Michael Patrick King said, “No, actors and creatures about Sarah Jessica Parker and John Corbett.” And nothing about the interests is old news. The fact of the matter is, we never said anything about Aidan, like we never said [another rumor is] Steve [Brady, played by David Eigenberg] And Carrie is getting together.
Fans will recall that Aidan’s final appearance in the SATC universe was in the second Sex and the City film, which was released in 2010. After meeting each other in Abu Dhabi, Carey and Aidan – each married to their respective partners at the time – share a brief kiss together, leaving the door open for a possible reunion down the line. Carrie and Aidan initially broke up in the original part of the series after Big cheated on her.
